I loved every minute of this! There were points at which I was worried it would go down the road of so many bad novels I have read, like when it came out that she had been summoned to a school. I was just waiting for the inevitable bullies, crush, classes, teachers, popular girls snubbing her, etc. But, yay, it really didn’t focus on the school in a student capacity since she wasn’t actually a student, and Aldric was embarrassed by her, she didn’t actually have to waste her time moaning through any of that. The battling of mage beasts felt D&D and World of Warcraft style, I worried it might go down the road of continuing on with the tedious beast battles through the entire story, which it thankfully didn’t. This took a lot of surprising twists and turns, yes, there was the inevitable romance (which was very sweet and I totally adored it!), but it didn’t just stay at the school, which I was nice surprised by. I loved Adri’s determination and refusal to be cowed, even with the ill treatment by Aldric. It really irritated me that Aldric really couldn’t see her as a human being. (Which is a good thing because we’re supposed to not like him and root for Adri to get free of him). And like Keldrin pointed out, it was slavery, though Aldric seemed determined to see her as a beast so perfectly within his rights to control. And, yes, I totally adored Keldrin, as well as I thought the Wiseman was an intriguing character, when he so could have easily gone down the road of villain hell-bent on bringing her down. One thing I felt was off though was that she really didn’t seem to question what happened to her father and brother. They were missing and she was determined to hold their kingdom together, but she didn’t seem to be questioning what had happed to them or where they were or if she might vanish along with them. I am eagerly looking forward to reading the next book in the series!

This book is a good example of why sometimes simpler is better. This was a fast and easy read that got to the point without having too many characters, side plots, background information, or minuscule details dragging us down. At the same time, it is not at all rushed. I highly respect an author who can pull off a fun read set by a good pace. A well-deserved five stars for this book.
I got this book figuring that it would be a nice little read it definitely excited my expectations.

The book is told through the eyes of demon princes who is rip away from her kingdom and seen as nothing more than a beast and a slave. Throughout the story you can feel the pain and sadness she is experiencing by the end of the book so much has happened that you really feel emotionally involved and I think that's what's makes this book great.

I am really glad that I read this book and definitely recommend it to anybody that likes an emotional story.
who would have thought of a demon princess as having been pampered? I certainly never would have. However, this is the case in this book and the poor girl has to learn some tough lessons real quick. The characters are great and I just wanted to strangle her new "master" for the way he treats her. His cousin is a whole different story though and brings with him feelings she know are a bad idea. I can't wait to see how things go in book two.
Interesting, exciting, and heartbreaking. This story is so engrossing and I read it in one setting. The relationship between Adri and Keldrin is complicated by their lives situations but love is universal even if you have two different backgrounds and your races are mortal enemies. Like Romeo and Juliet living in a magical world.
This is a fast read, meant for teens. Not a lot of deep emotion, but an intriguing look at a demon princess, who reminds me of Maleficent. She is not an ugly or gross demon, but looks human, which creates her problem; she is bound to a Mage as a summon beast and the mages have no idea what she is. This novel intrigued me because it destroyed my concept of a vile, deformed, monstrous creature. Adri is quite weak in strength, but powerful in magic, not a typical demon who processes people. A few of her people have horns, and Adri has wings that can magically emerge.

This book doesn't end on a satisfactory conclusion. I'd recommend reading book two.

A clean read for all ages.
I received a copy of Demon Princess from Xpresso Book Tours for an honest review. I enjoyed Demon Princess and read it very quickly. Demon Princess is about Adriana, a young demon/woman who is preparing to become the Demon King. She is rudely transported to a Mage school where she has been summoned by a young Mage to be his summon beast. A romance ensues with another Mage, there is a quest, great danger and adventure. All the time Adriana has to keep the fact that she is a demon secret, as she is in a land where Demons are feared enemies. There is a lot of action, suspense and a doomed romance. The ending definitely does not resolve all of Adriana's problems so we know there must be another book. I'm hoping there will be more world building in the sequel(s). I look forward to reading the next one.
Everyone knows Demons can't be summoned by Mages. So how did Princess Adriana get summoned on her way to be crowned in the absence of her father and brother? This story is streamlined without too many side plots, but is very readable. See Adriana misused as a Summon Beast, forced to do whatever her 'master' commands (shut up, stay in this room, come to my classroom, sleep on the floor, eat from a plate on the floor, etc.). She eventually finds a spell that will sever the bond, but then has to get the missing ingredient. It reads like a YA or teen book, very clean.
