"A Miracle for Miriam" ~ Miriam had been in love with Seth for as long as she could remember. Along with remembering how much she was in love with Seth she remembered how he crushed her heart in front of everyone when they were younger. Now that they are adults in the community and have came in contact with each other again she has to fight to keep those feelings for Seth down inside her because she is afraid that he will once again crush her heart.

This is a great short story but I found myself wanting the story to continue so I could find out how their lives turned out.

"A Place of His Own" from An Amish Gathering ~ Amanda lost her best friend, Josiah, when she was growing up and had no idea why he had moved away. Then, one day he comes back into her life for her only to find out that he is leaving again. When they were growing up he was her best friend and she thought that she knew everything about him but boy was she surprised. Both Amanda and Josiah had a lot to deal with in this story but I found enjoyed it very much.

"What the Heart Sees" from An Amish Love ~ Ellie Chupp was in an accident with two other Amish friends and the result was that she had lost her sight. Luckily she was not the one to lose their life but there was so much for her to deal with since the accident. When she lost John she felt like she would never get married and have the family that she always dreamed of.

Then their was Christopher Miller who left the Amish faith because of the accident because he could not bring it to himself to forgive the person who caused the accident which caused the death of his fiance, Caroline. He had dreamed that they would have such a great life full of children and that was taken away from him and because he could not forgive he was shunned by the community. After five long years he decided that he truly missed the Amish faith and his family but when he returned to his family he was thrown a few more surprises that made forgiveness even harder.

I would really like to read more about all three of these stories. This is my first Kathleen Fuller book and I am looking forward to reading more.

These three stories were previously published in An Amish Christmas, An Amish Gathering and An Amish Love. I had read the one story before; but had to reread it again to freshen my memory. It is amazing how much you can forget about a story if you read it sometime ago.

A Miracle for Miriam is a story about Seth and Miriam. Seth had humiliated Miriam when they were young teens. Seth returns to his hometown after an auto accident in which he is injured and scarred. He sees Miriam at a Christmas party and approaches her to talk. She is not overly friendly towards him; but Seth is persistent. He is determined to make amends for the past.

A Place of His Own is a story about Josiah and Amanda. Josiah returns to Paradise after being away for ten years. Him and his father left abruptly after Josiah's mother died. Amanda wants nothing more then her best friend to stay in Paradise; but Josiah plans on fixing up the old home and selling it and leaving town again. Amanda wants her friend to open up to her; but Josiah is not the same person that left ten years ago.

What the Heart Sees is a story of Ellie and Chris. Chris has been away for five years because he was shunned after he tries to have the driver of the car who killed his fiance jailed. He returns home to find out his sister is going to marry that same person. Ellie was best friends with Caroline, Chris's fiance. Ellie lost her sight in the accident and also her betrothed who was unable to deal with her blindness. Will the two of them be able to get past their issues and find happiness in each other.

I have always had a fascination for the Amish and I absolutely love to read Amish fiction.All three of these are wonderful stories. Even though you always think of the Amish as godly people, you realize they have many of the same problems and issues that we do. They have their doubts and fears. They love, get sad, can show hatred; the list can go on.

All three stories are about someone who has been away from the Amish community and have returned. They are stories full of love, forgiveness, acceptance, especially of yourself. Stories of the love of God and allowing the Lord to guide you to the decisions that are right in his eyes. Trusting in the Lord that he will bring goodness out of tragedy.

If you are in for some good Amish stories and a good christian read, I highly recommend this book. I don't think you will be disappointed. Grab a nice hot cup of tea and curl up with Kathleen Fuller.

Kathleen Fuller is an excellent writer and I love her books and am now waiting for her new series to be published. Once I start reading one of her books I can seldom put it down until I finish reading it.

I enjoyed reading this series. This is what I would guess the Amish like would be like. Too many words to have to fill in for these reviews!
